lyrics
there are many different things
from a summers day to little rimu-roa
and i get myself all caught up, it breaks my heart
thinking that i’ll always find a way to let you down
but i don’t wanna be blue
got my head in the clouds
you’re what’s pulling me through
i don’t wanna be blue
got my head in the clouds
i just wanna be you X2
you are many different ways
you’re the summers day, the blue sky up above
and you’re the sun when i most need it, you make my day
thinking that i’ll always need to make you stay
cause i don’t wanna be blue
got my head in the clouds
you’re what’s pulling me through
i don’t wanna be blue
got my head in the clouds
i just wanna be you X2
please don’t go i just wanted to let you know
that i’m here to stay
and yes i know that i’m really easy to hate
but i won’t be another mistake
another mistake
another mistake
cause i don’t wanna be blue
got my head in the clouds
you’re what’s pulling me through
i don’t wanna be blue
got my head in the clouds
i just wanna be you X2
don’t wanna be blue
don’t wanna be blue
don’t wanna be b l u e
i don’t wanna be blue

Shoegaze ist die Kunst des Dröhnens, doch „Everything Is Alive“ setzt diese Elemente nur sparsam ein. Statt Hall- und Zerr-Sounds aufzutürmen, schäumt die Musik in feinen Bläschen über.

Castlebeat’s “VHS” offsets bright, jangly songs with smoky, lo-fi production, giving their pie-eyed melodies a sense of mystery. Bandcamp New & Notable May 7, 2018

Phantom Handshakes takes so many of the things I like in music (emotive vocals, reverb, poppy jangly hooks, atmospheric synths) and combines them seamlessly into some of my favorite music released in the last couple of years. Reminiscent of The Radio Dept's Pet Grief, one of my all-time favorite albums. the_technology
